Flynn's Sewing Machine Centre is a family owned and run business, based in the Browns of York department store.

We supply sewing machines, sewing machine cabinets and dress-forms by the following manufacturers; Elna, Baby lock, Singer, Bernina, Husqvarna, Bernette, Janome, Horn, Adjustoform, and Frister + Rossmann.

If you require any assistance in choosing your new machine, please feel free to contact us. We also offer free tuition on ALL machines.

If you are interested in a PRE-OWNED machine please contact us to check on availability.

You will enjoy prompt free delivery uk mainland on all our in-stock machines or you may prefer to call and collect from our shop in York. You can order online - all payments are made though our secure server.

We do not supply Janome branded Sewing Machines or Overlockers to customers residing outside the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. The warranty on Janome products is limited to these territories.

As a family run business Flynn's have many years experience in sewing machine supply and repair and are dedicated to maintaining the high quality of service that has been evident from Brown's Department Store since its opening in 1896. Shopping at Flynn's is therefore safe and easy.

Additionally, Flynn's are members of the Sewing Machine Trade Association (S.M.T.A.)

As experts on ALL SEWING MACHINES, embroidery machines, and overlockers, customers old and new are free to visit for a demonstration and tuition on their chosen sewing machine. It is this unique service which sets Flynn's apart from other stockists.

York is a fine historic place to visit. It is extremely accessible and there is a truly efficient 'park and ride' service with parking centres all around the city. A full day in York will cost £2.30 on 'park and ride' There are NO congestion charges!

We are located on the first floor of Brown's of York department store in the centre of York at the meeting point of West and North Yorkshire.

Brown's of York is an up-to-the-mark, progressive Department store with a big range of products,two restaurants and a ladies' hairdresser over its two floors.

Access

If you want to collect from our premises, access is either down Blake Street and Davygate, or Goodramgate and Church Street. You can drive right up to our main entrance in St. Sampson's Square during the following times:

Mon - Fri: Before 11am and after 4pm
Sat: Before 10:30am and after 4:30pm
Sun: Before 12 noon and after 4pm

But remember, within the York area we operate a collection / delivery service (for repairs and sales) - usually in the evening when people are at home.

Sat: 9am - 6pm
Sun: 11am - 5pm

We also open on most Bank Holidays - opening times can vary.

If you wish simply to visit us and perhaps spend an hour or two in this beautiful City, we recommend Park and Ride; it's quick, it's comfortable, it's convenient and it's cheap!
